About

At Black Rock Church of Christ, you can expect to find a church committed to the truth of God’s Word, reaching out in love to one another and filled with a desire to live for Jesus Christ our Lord.

We assemble at various times each week to sing praises, pray together, read from the scriptures, hear Bible-based messages, fellowship together and share with one another regarding our victories and needs. Each Sunday we remember the sacrifice that Christ made on Calvary through a communion service with Him.

What we hope you will find at Black Rock Church of Christ, a congregation that looks to the Bible for instructions, answers, guidance, and inspiration. We have no other source of authority. No written creeds, no rule books, no legal documents setting the parameters of who is and is not a Christian. Just the Bible. There are many good books on religion and spirituality, written by sincere and knowledgeable men and women. Some of these are helpful to Christians. But we believe there is only one place to go to find out what God expects of people and how to have a right relationship with Him. That one place is the Holy Bible, which we believe to be the inspired Word of God Himself. David, the king of ancient Israel said to God, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path” (Psalm 119:105). In a letter he wrote, the Apostle Paul commended the young Christian, Timothy, saying, “…you have known the Holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. All Scripture is God-breathed, and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2nd Timothy 3:15-17).

In keeping with our strong belief that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the sole source of authority in matters of spirituality, we offer several Bible classes for both children and adults. These studies are designed to discover the original meaning of the inspired writers and to learn how these truths should be applied to our lives. The Bible is filled with so much wisdom and so many great truths, it needs to be read daily and studied often. Each time you read from a passage in the Bible, you are likely to find some new meaning, a greater truth than you found years ago when your faith was young and your perspective was different.
